  • The Tennis Rules and Regulations of Ridgeway Country Club set forth herein have been developed by the Tennis Committee to uphold and maintain the standards of the club, to provide information and notice as to various aspects of the tennis facility and to provide for the enjoyment of the game of tennis by all of our members and their guest.

    GENERAL
    Members and guests are expected to abide by the Ridgeway Country Club Tennis Rules and Regulations, show proper courtesy toward other members, tennis staff and shop personnel.

    If a member has a complaint, it should first be addressed to the Tennis Director. If necessary, the complaint will be addressed by the Tennis Committee. Issues that cannot be resolved with the Tennis Director and/or the Tennis Committee should then be addressed to the General Manager.

    The rules of the USTA shall apply except when in conflict with any of the rules of Ridgeway Country Club.

    The Tennis Director shall determine if the courts are playable or not due to weather conditions.

    TENNIS ETIQUETTE
    Proper tennis etiquette must be observed at all times. Excessive noise, racquet throwing, profanity or other unsportsmanlike conduct will not be permitted. Such conduct may result in a player being asked to vacate the court.

    Proper tennis attire must be worn at all times. Players must wear acceptable tennis shoes. No running shoes are allowed on the clay courts. Non marking shoes must be worn on the hard courts. Cutoff shorts, Bermuda shorts, bathing suits, tank tops, are not permitted.

    TENNIS PLAY
    All players must register in the Tennis Pro Shop before taking a court, even if a court has been previously assigned.

    Courts may be reserved 7 (seven) days in advance by members for one and one-half (1 ½) hours for singles and doubles play. There will be no automatic reservations for future days, and no courts may be reserved for more than one and one-half (1 ½) hours. One member may reserve multiple courts at the same time, but all the names of all players must be provided.

    No player or group of players may reserve a court for more than one and one half (1 ½) hours of continuous play.

    If unable to keep your reserved court time, please notify the Tennis Pro Shop. A fifteen (15) minute grace period beyond your scheduled court time will be allowed. Failure to show up for court time within the fifteen (15) minute grace period will result in forfeiture of the court if other members are waiting and no other courts are available.

    A twenty four (24) hour cancellation policy will be enforced for all events for which there is an entry fee on Lessons, Clinics, Social Events, Mixers, Round Robins, Etc.

    Paid private and group lessons with Ridgeway Country Club staff professionals are available by appointment. Outside tennis pros are not permitted. Appointments can be scheduled at the front desk in the Tennis Pro Shop. Changes or cancellations must be made by 5:00 PM the day prior to your appointment. A cancellation fee equal to one half (1/2) the current rate will be charged.

    Men’s, Women’s, and Junior’s inter-club matches shall have priority for court time. Members may reserve/schedule courts not being used for inter-club matches at the discretion of the Tennis Director.

    Special events, tennis mixers, tournaments or any sponsored Club event will have priority for court time.

    The tennis professional and their spouse are permitted to participate on RCC tennis teams. Participation on a team will not cause other members to be financially disadvantaged by their participation in team clinics.

    GUEST POLICY
    Members are responsible for registering all guests in the Tennis Pro Shop and paying all guest fees. The guest fee for both indoor and outdoor courts is $10.00. The lesson guest fee is $10.00 for a one (1) hour adult lesson, $5.00 for one half (1/2) hour adult lesson and $5.00 for all junior tennis lessons.

    Guest may not use the tennis facility more than two (2) times per month. League matches or semi-private lessons with members are permitted more than two (2) times.

    Guest of reciprocal clubs must be accompanied by a member. The guest fee may be charged to the reciprocal club member account.

    A person who is not a member, the Significant Other, or a Special Guest of a member may not participate in any Club sponsored tournaments or events.

    Restrictions on the number of visits and the payment of Guest Fees shall not apply to Significant Others and Special Guest.

    The Tennis Director may allow exceptions to the Guest Policy on a case by case basis depending on the circ*mstances and availability of courts.
